INDORE: A day after a pregnant woman delivered a stillborn child in Ranapur of Jhabua district, a similar situation prevailed at state’s largest-run MY Hospital where a pregnant woman delivered a baby outside the hospital parking space on Thursday. Resident of Dewas Naka area, the 20-year-old Radhika kept crying in pain for nearly 45 minutes outside in a hope for hospital staff to come to her rescue.
She had come alone at the hospital, sources said.
As soon as she reached the hospital, she sat near parking area due to intense labor pain. She could not move owing to pain and people moving in and out of the hospital remain mute spectator. By the time anyone could take plight of her situation, she delivered a baby outside the hospital. She kept lying on floor with her new-born. It was later she picked the baby in lap.
“I saw the woman lying in the parking area of the hospital where she was holding a new born in lap. I sensed something wrong and informed the hospital administration about the incident. Initially, people kept dilly-dallying but when I pressed them hard, the staff ran with a stretcher. It was then she was taken to medical room,” said eye-witness, Mohammad Raees.
However, the hospital administration kept denying about any such incident happened at the hospital. “Hospital staff was not negligent in treating the patient. In pregnancy cases, delay in reaching hospital result into delivery sometimes. But, it anything such sorts of happened aggrieved family members should approach us, we will investigate and take action against the guilty staff,” said hospital superintendent, Dr V S Pal.
